How To Maintain And Manage Solar Power Generation Systems?

Apr 18, 2023

Solar power generation system is the energy of celestial bodies outside the Earth (mainly solar energy). Solar power generation is the enormous energy released by the fusion of hydrogen nuclei in the sun at ultra-high temperatures, and most of the energy needed by humans comes directly or indirectly from the sun. Because the fossil fuels we need in our daily lives, such as coal, oil, and natural gas, are formed by various plants that convert solar energy into chemical energy through photosynthesis, store it in the plants, and then bury it underground through geological ages. In addition, solar power generation, including hydropower, wind energy, wave energy, ocean current energy, etc., will also be converted into solar energy. How to maintain and manage solar power generation systems?
1. Photovoltaic dust prevention for solar power generation systems: check and tighten connecting bolts and wires, test output, and adjust inclination.
2. Tracker for solar power generation system: bearing lubrication, bolt and shock absorption inspection.
3. Backup fuel system for solar power generation system: confirm wiring, check for good condition, and be available at any time.
4. Charging controller of solar power generation system: check the rectifier voltage setting and check whether the voltmeter is normal. If the battery temperature is below 55F, it must be able to charge at a higher voltage (at least 14.8V for a 12V system). If the charging controller has a temperature compensation function, it will automatically adjust. If there is an external temperature sensor, please ensure it is connected to the battery. If there is no automatic adjustment function, you need to manually increase the voltage and rotate it in the spring (adjust to 14.3 volts). If the charging controller cannot be adjusted, please store the battery in a relatively warm environment.
5. Batteries for solar power generation systems (lead-acid): Check the voltage of each battery, troubleshoot, and determine if balanced charging is necessary. If necessary, perform balanced charging maintenance (usually, after the battery is fully charged, overcharge for 8 hours in the middle). Wash the liquid or dust off the battery. Clean or replace corroded wiring terminals. Apply petroleum jelly oil to the wiring terminals to prevent further corrosion. Check the battery fluid and supplement with distilled or deionized water if necessary. Check ventilation (whether there are insects, etc. inside the ventilation pipe). Note: Check the size, connection, fuses, and other safety measures of the wires. Grounding and lightning protection: Install or inspect grounding pillars or ground wires.
6. Load or electrical appliances for solar power generation: televisions with transformers and remote controls, check for invisible loads or inefficient wall lamps, which will consume electricity when turned on. Check black incandescent lamps and consider replacing them with halogen or fluorescent lamps. Please replace the black fluorescent lamp. Clean the dust on the lighting and fixing bracket.
7. Frequency converter for solar power generation: regulator, installation settings, wiring inspection. Note: The charging voltage of inverters with charging function must be set to 14.5 (29) volts. Refer to the user manual. If necessary, add additional temperature detectors.
8. The battery temperature of solar power generation leads to a capacity loss of 30 to 25% in lead-acid batteries. Freezing at 20F after full can cause damage. Overheating in summer can also affect lifespan. Therefore, batteries should not be used in extreme outdoor temperature environments. Installed on indoor batteries according to national standards, it can operate safely.
