As per the report, the total capacity of Floating PV System PV plants worldwide had reached 5.7 GW by 2022, marking a significant increase from previous years. China, with an incredible 70% of the total capacity, remained the leading player in floating solar, followed by Japan, South Korea, and Europe.
Floating solar power has gained considerable traction globally due to its potential to generate clean, renewable energy while optimizing the available resources. The report also highlights future prospects and opportunities for floating solar, such as overcoming challenges related to Solar Storage System, integrating floating solar with other energy sources, and leveraging the convenience of floating solar in areas with limited land resources.
