With solar energy booming in the world and Solar Storage System cost keep dropping, Africa with it`s solid energy demand to be with more attention from ourside world. As the grid network infaustructure is the weak point, that leaves more opportunity to hybrid pv system and stand alone pv system, but Africa is needing urgently on skilled talents to do the professional work.
The RES4Africa Foundation, through its RES4Africa Academy, is working to provide comprehensive capacity-building support for renewable energy technology deployment. This includes multi-level training programs that guarantee open access, inclusivity, youth and women's empowerment, linkages with industry and the labor market, and customization to meet local requirements, they provide solar system design, O&M, health and safety, in combination with a focus on the productive use of energy through site visits on community projects and other practical activities.
Africa's rapidly growing population, with half of its citizens under 20 years old, underscores the urgent need for greater energy access to power the region's economic future. While 43% of Africans still lack access to electricity, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, the continent boasts 60% of the world's best solar resources, yet only 1% of installed capacity.
Renewable energy technologies are critical for expanding energy access in both urban and rural areas, with mini-grids and stand-alone systems representing viable solutions. However, to effectively support the deployment of these technologies, training and capacity-building are essential. Investing in young people offers a means to bridge existing skill gaps while creating more green jobs and opportunities in the sector.
One such initiative is the Technical and Vocational School program, which provides hands-on training for young African professionals in the renewable energy sector. This program is delivered in partnership with international and local market players, organizations, and educational institutions. By investing in training and capacity-building, Africa can harness its abundant renewable energy resources to power its economic growth while empowering and creating opportunities for its young people.
