Luxembourg's Ministry of Energy has approved the allocation of 52.7 MW of PV capacity in a recent agrivoltaics system tender.
The 14 selected projects will occupy a total land area of 73.5 hectares across the country. The Ministry of Energy highlighted the range of agricultural usage for solar projects on meadows used for animal feed, pastures for livestock, orchards for laying hens, and arable land with crop rotation.
Eight selected projects will feature solar trackers, while the other will have a shade roof. The ministry emphasized that ecological and agricultural factors were also considered in the selection process, reflecting their goal of preserving the area's ecological quality while maintaining agricultural land use with an active farmer's participation.
